Homer Alaska

Truck trip to Homer....sun is shining with no rain predicted.  Saddi is ready to get on the road...
This is our first trip into Homer so we are going to check out the Spit today.....

Headed south on Sterling Highway

Didn't make it far.....road repairs next 14 miles

Anyone need a "red" boat

Mount Iliamna Vocano which appears as snowy peaks across Cook Inlet
from Anchor Point, is actually one mountain with a 10,000 foot summit
and four peaks

Tractor assistance allows boats to launch at just about any tide

rather having to wait for high tide

Beautiful views of Aleutian Range

We drove to Anchor Point

Homer Hill

RV Park in the distance

Homer Hill

Let's go to Homer Spit

Lake with your own float plane

Clouds are getting darker

The Spit is a 4.5-mile sand finger that projects into Kachemak Bay

Seafarers' Memorial

State Ferry departing the harbor

Low Tide

This is one busy place....people everywhere

Must stop at Salty Dawg Saloon

Reminds us of Cabbage Key and No Name Pub

They do serve "Bud"

Fishing Charter in with its catch

Our favorite sign

Waterfront property

This one is a 5th wheel with its own truck

Headed back to Kenai

Old Town of Homer...another day

Clouds are getting lower and lower

Part of the Pacific Ring of Fire

Nikolaevsk and Church of Saint Nicholas

Nikolacvsk, a settlement of "Russian Old Believers"

Interesting to see

Mount Iliamna Volcano

Mount Redoubt Volcano last erupted in 2009
